Hello all,

First of all, I know that I have been a bit of a yo-yo in regards to Maplestory. Been on and off and on and off and I take full responsibility for the fact that that wasn't great. After re-installing EMS yesterday evening I started to check the Hellbound forum and found out that the guild basically split up. Now I don't know why that happened and in all fairness there's no particular need for me to know that anyway. I decided to apply with you guys though, because I have fond memories of chatting away with Stephy in the periods I was online. Sure, that's not the only reason to apply, but more on that later.

I'll start by telling you a bit about myself before continuing my reasons for joining again. So to start off, my name is Kevin and I'm a 24-year-old fellow living in the United Kingdom. The North-East of England to be more precise. I've moved there a year ago as I was originally born and raised in The Netherlands (Amersfoort). My good friends call me Monk for reasons too long to state in this app. My name should tell you I'm a male. My move to the UK was inspired by the desire to live abroad and work allowed me that opportunity. I work as an industrial chemist with SABIC (40k employees, Saudi-Arabia based) and have been doing that for 3 years now. My hobbies are mainly gaming, hiking/walking, watching tv series (Prison Break!!) and that sort of stuff.

Now for Maple related information, I created a Kaiser named Monkaiser (see what I did there?) and am only low level on that char still. I'm currently in the process of revamping my char page, as I'm undecided what mules to keep and what other chars to make, so help is appreciated on that (link skills and what not). I aim to have my Kaiser level 100 asap and I'll main it, although in the coming month I'll level link skill mules as well. My ways of money making are currently non-existent. I'll gladly learn more about that as I progress in the game, but most likely it will eventually be through bossing, so that covers my aspirations as well eh? :P I've never been banned, nor have I ever hacked/duped as it is a silly thing to do. Because, why would you take away the fun of a game by flooding the market with items that are not legit? It's a silly way to fool people and make virtual money with no RL value at all.

Right, so from my opening paragraph you'll have noticed I was part of Hellbound, so most of you will at least recognize me :). I lost interest in the game and didn't show up anymore. That's not in my favor, I realize that. However, I keep returning to the game and with a fun, talkative guild I can commit, stay and be sociable and helpful to anyone who requires it. One of my own previous guilds (pre-BB) was StarGazers which I was leading with my, at the time GF, spouse. Well I could go on a rant now about how I want to make this guild the best there is and all that, but generally I'm looking for a good time, where people are willing to help me out and I am willing to help them out as the need is there. If you guys accept me I aim to be a steadfast rock in this guild of whom people know they can come to with anything. That needs lots of time and I'm willing to invest that time.

Lastly, should you decide to not want me in the guild, please do send me a buddy request on Monkaiser so we can have a chat about anything and everything :). I'd love that.

Nicely written application, I must say. I too am busy with making my Link Mules, as I only returned in Dec after a 4 year break. Perhaps we could party up for some grinding in the next days/weeks?

I'd love to get to know you a bit better firstly, but the fact that you are ex-HB, while only on Trial for a few days before the seperation, leans me towards a Yes already They only accept good, nice guys

I'm currently playing on either xVinnYx (my main, lv 163 Wind Breaker) or FastExpPlz (my Mercedes Mule, lv 76 or so). Feel free to buddy me or whisper =)

a great app and very well written

as another fairly recently returned player i get how you fell with having a nice active guild is a good thing

im usually around on a mule acc or my main lvl 130 or so DA

as for link skills and cards id recomend a demon avenger east to lvl no pots ever and easy range very tanky gives % dmg as link and card gives % boss dmg

for str cannoneer gives good link and card
as does xenon

Heya Monk, welcome to the forum! App is nicely written and I enjoy your honesty. About the Hellbound part... lack of leadership forced the guild to split and go their own way. It probably was for the best anyway.

Right, managed to do lvl 60 on Monkaiser today. Will probably try and hit 90-100 in the weekend :)

its so out of context i couldn't even see what level you are, reasons, views, that sorta thing i like to know.

Maybe to some its easy, but for me it was almost unreadable.

Also, leveled my Mercedes mule to 90 and started my DA (AvengeMyLink) and got it to lv 30. The Mr. Lee event is pretty quick to level, and it pops up in your Light Bulb (left side) - Thanks to Dave (Flandere) for pointing that out It's 1h "grind" but with a lot of bosses that give like 15k exp per kill, but scale to your level. I grinded from 76 to 90 on just 1h without 2x EXP, just the Elven Blessing on my Merc.

Thanks for pointing that out. I tried it yesterday and died, due to not paying attention... Will give it a go again today :)

I got a Wilderniss Buff the other day, but I'm not sure if it's worth to use it there for grinding. I used mine yesterday. The buff lasts for 30 minutes and gives +10k HP, + 100 W.ATT/M.ATT, +DEF/M.DEF, + Speed/Jump afaik. Basically I went to 14k HP, doubled my range and got hit for 1's by all attacks (aside of the semi- 1/1 attack by one of the bosses, the purple poison cloud).

Maybe that will help with your survivability. I also found it to be tricky sometimes without the buff (esp. on 85+ when you maxed your dmg skill but not changed your gear).

but in my opinion, it is categorized and easier to read. you may know some people here from hellbound, but to the other ones your application is your first step into our circle.
and for me, i'd like to understand what you write, and then take the personal level later after.

i often vote no, so you're not the first.
but i really couldn't understand your first application, so it was hard for me to make a judgment and i am perhaps more cautious and vary, and maybe a bit more strict on new people, as i want to be assured that those who join will be a good addition to our team and get along with the others.

Just a few more things I wonder about. would you consider yourself a team person, or shy? how is your playing schedule on an approx basis? (days per week or hours per day)

I appreciate your honesty and feedback :) & fully understand where you're coming from. Having a solid group in the guild is important and a certain level of caution is good. What good would an application otherwise be! :)

I feel I'm a team player. When I can, I will try to help people. That said, I should probably make a Bishop at some point, as Kaiser isn't very party orientated :P.

Generally I try and log in everyday / every other day. I work full-time so during the week I'm mostly available in the evening. 7pm-9pm western European time.
During the weekend I can generally be online somewhere between 2-6 hours depending on my mood and whether or not I'm going away for hiking/shopping and those things :).
